In line with directives from His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, the projects aim to upgrade Dubai’s public beaches to world-class standards, guided by Sheikh Hamdan bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum and Sheikh Maktoum bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum.

The Higher Committee for Urban Planning and Well-Being announced that these projects will be completed in 18 months, covering a total of 5.7 km (4.3 km at Al Mamzar and 1.4 km at Jumeirah 1).

The comprehensive developments will include radical changes to the infrastructure, making these beaches some of the most advanced and attractive worldwide.

Master Plan:

This initiative is part of the Dubai Master Plan for Public Beaches, the Dubai Economic Agenda D33, the Dubai Urban Plan 2040, and the Dubai Quality of Life Strategy 2033, aiming to position Dubai as a top city for living, working, visiting, and beach tourism.

New Features:

  • Night Swimming Beach: Dubai’s first 24/7 beach in Deira, stretching 300 meters.

  • Pedestrian Path: A 5 km path connecting Al Mamzar and Jumeirah 1.

  • Cycling and Running Tracks: 11 km of tracks lined with trees.

  • Floating Bridge: A 200-meter floating bridge at Al Mamzar Beach, the first in Dubai.

Facilities:

The beaches will have public health facilities, 10 recreational play areas, children’s playgrounds, beach and fitness zones, barbecue areas, rest amenities, and event spaces. Parking will include 1,400 spaces for cars and buses, with charging stations for electric vehicles, drinking water stations, irrigation, and sewage systems, plus automatic irrigation to expand green spaces.

Technology:

High-tech services include safety deposit boxes, Wi-Fi, electronic screens, and AI-assisted beach rescue technologies. Over 100 modern cameras linked to central control rooms will enhance surveillance and safety.

Investment Opportunities:

Over 50 unique investment opportunities will be offered, such as water activity rentals, commercial outlets, kiosks, restaurants, self-service machines, advertising spaces, and beach seating.

Climate Adaptation:

As part of Dubai’s sustainable development and climate adaptation plan, these beaches will be elevated to withstand climate change impacts. More than half a million cubic meters of sand will be used for protection based on comprehensive studies.

Continuous Access:

The project will keep beaches partially open to the public with safety measures in place.

Increased Facilities:

Night swimming beaches will be extended by 56% to 450 meters, cycling tracks by 285% to 15.15 km, and running tracks by 125% to 11 km. Facilities for people of determination will follow the Dubai Qualified Environment Code (DQEC) and international best practices.
